Conversations involving multiple participants, allowing collaboration and information sharing in Teams
Dear @Bahnfleth Farrah,
I hope you're having a nice day. Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Q&A forum and for sharing your concerns.
I understand how inconvenient unexpected changes in the Teams chat experience can be to your workflow. Based on Microsoft’s latest updates, this behavior is part of the new chat and channels experience in Microsoft Teams. Meeting chats in Microsoft Teams are now organized using a dedicated filter, allowing users to better manage and differentiate between various types of conversations.
If you prefer to view all chats, including meeting chats, in a unified list, you can disable the Meeting Chats filter in the chat pane. Once turned off, your meeting chats will appear alongside other conversations in the main chat list.
If you prefer not to use the filter feature, you can disable it in your Teams settings to avoid accidentally selecting it. However, before doing so, please ensure that the “Meeting Chats” filter has already been turned off using the steps mentioned earlier.
To disable the filter toggle: Click the three dots (···) in the Teams sidebar > go to Settings > select Chats and Channels > then switch off the Filter toggle.

If your Teams interface looks different from the screenshots I’ve provided, or if any of the steps are unclear, please feel free to share a screenshot of your current Teams interface (Please make sure to blur or cover any personal or sensitive information in the screenshot to protect your privacy) along with the version of Teams you’re using (go to Settings > About Teams).
This will help me better understand your environment and provide more accurate guidance. While our initial response might not always resolve the issue right away, your input and any additional details you can share will really help us work together toward a solution. Your cooperation means a lot, and it helps us ensure that we can deliver the best possible support tailored to your situation.
