The tabs are syncing because the same Microsoft Edge profile (your boss’s Microsoft account) is signed in and set to sync on both laptops. To remove the tabs only from the new laptop, turn off or change sync on that device instead of deleting anything from the account.

Do this on the new laptop:

1. Open Microsoft Edge.
2. Select More options (three dots) > Settings.
3. Go to Profiles > Sync.
4. Turn off the toggles for items you don’t want synced (for example, Open tabs, Favorites, etc.). This stops new tabs from syncing to your device.
5. If the tabs are already there and you just want them gone on this laptop, close the unwanted tabs in Edge after turning off sync for tabs.

If you want to completely stop using that account in Edge on the new laptop:

1. In Edge, go to Settings and more > Settings > Profiles.
2. Select the profile with your boss’s account.
3. Select Sign out.

This signs the profile out of Edge on your laptop and stops sync there, without deleting your boss’s data or tabs from the other laptop.

Note: If you clear browsing data while still signed in and syncing, that deletion can sync to all devices. To avoid affecting your boss’s laptop, sign out or turn off sync first.
