Hi. I'm David, and I'm happy to help you.

This is a fake alert (scareware/scam) generated by browser notifications in Microsoft Edge, not an actual virus infection on your computer or an official McAfee warning. Websites like the one you mentioned (softlix) often trick visitors into allowing notifications, which then display these pop-ups to scam you.

To remove these pop-ups in Microsoft Edge, follow these steps:

    1. Open Microsoft Edge.
    2. Copy and paste edge://settings/content/notifications into the address bar and press Enter.
    3. Scroll down to the Allow section.
    4. Look for the website address associated with "softlix" or any unknown domain.
    5. Click the three dots (...) next to that domain and select Remove or Block.

(If you don't find it in this menu, let me know. Further investigation is needed.)

    • Do not click on any links or buttons inside those pop-up windows.
    • For peace of mind, run a full scan using Windows Security (Windows Defender) or your installed antivirus software.

Feel free to ask any questions you may have.
