I checked with the PC health app and my PC meets the requirements to upgrade to windows 11 but when I go to Windows Update, It says that my "device is missing important security and quality fixes." And that I am no longer receiving security updates.

    Hi, good day!

When you check your PC to see if it meets the hardware requirements for Windows 11 using the PC Health Check app, it provides real-time information compared to the Windows Update settings compatibility check which runs a scheduled task which will take time to show the actual result.

Can you try to refresh the eligibility assessment using the steps in the link below?

If this does not work, I recommend using the Windows 11 Installation assistant to upgrade to Windows 11 manually.

Few things to check on the PC

    • Unplug all external peripherals except for the Mouse, Keyboard, and LAN cable before starting
    • Disable or uninstall any third-party Antivirus program to prevent it from interfering with the upgrade

Note: It's always a good practice to backup your important files first before performing any Windows upgrade or reinstallation.

I look forward to receiving your update and I'm willing to collaborate with you till we resolve the issue. Do keep me informed by clicking "Add comment" below.

That message means the current Windows 10 version is out of service or has not updated successfully for a significant amount of time. The supported path is:

    1. Open Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
    2. Select Check for updates.
    3. Download and install any available Windows 10 updates first.

If PC Health Check says the PC is eligible for Windows 11, that confirms the hardware meets the minimum requirements. Windows Update can still delay the Windows 11 offer if:

    • there is a compatibility safeguard hold for the device, app, or driver, or
    • the Windows 11 upgrade is not yet ready for that device.

If Windows Update still does not offer Windows 11 after updating Windows 10, use one of these supported options:

    1. Run PC Health Check again and select Check now to confirm eligibility.
    2. Use the Windows 11 Installation Assistant from the Microsoft software download page. When it shows Install Windows 11, select Accept and install, then restart when prompted.

If the Installation Assistant says This PC doesn't meet the minimum system requirements to install Windows 11, leave the device on Windows 10.

If Windows 10 updates continue to fail, possible causes include driver problems, not enough free disk space, or other device issues. In that case:

    • follow the Windows update troubleshooting guidance,
    • take the PC to a qualified repair technician, or
    • reinstall Windows 10 to return the PC to a cleaner state. Reinstalling Windows can affect apps and settings, so back up important files first.

Also note: Windows 10 support ends after October 14, 2025.
