I want an alternative method of charging for my Surface Pro 5 which does not have a USB-C port. Is there any other way besides the standard charger?

Microsoft confirms that the Surface Pro 5 does not support USB-C charging. It charges only through the Surface Connect port.

Best alternative: a 44W Surface Connect replacement charger with a built-in USB-A port. This is the closest thing to a "second original charger" rather than a workaround — it uses the same magnetic connector, same voltage/current (15V, 2.58A), and won't have any of the compatibility uncertainty that comes with USB-C or car chargers on this model.

For Surface Pro 5, there is no alternate built-in charging method besides the Surface charging port.

The supported power requirement listed for Surface Pro (5th Gen) is 39W, with no fast charge, using Model 1800: 39W (15V @ 2.58A). A moderator-provided answer also states that Surface Pro 5 does not have USB charging.

If the standard Surface charger is not working, the supported troubleshooting path is:

    1. Check whether the LED light on the Surface Connect charger turns on.
    2. If the LED is off, blinking, or flashing, disconnect the charger from the Surface and wall power, wait at least 10 seconds, clean the connector with a soft dry lint-free cloth, and reconnect it.
    3. Flip the Surface connector 180 degrees and test again.
    4. Try a different wall outlet.
    5. If available, try another genuine Surface power supply.

If another Surface power supply works, replace the charger. If not, the Surface itself may need service.
