I want to fix windows media player to identify the album and song I rip from cd.

Microsoft removed that functionality from Windows Media Player in December.

Please have in mind that Windows Media Player is legacy software and as such is no longer being supported.

I am using windows 11. Microsoft no longer supports their window media legacy player. I can use it to rip cds to the computer, Then I would have to edit all the song info and album name. This does not transfer over to devices I load the song to. This computer is old and needs to be replaced anyway. So, I will be buying an apple computer. I have been looking at the max cubes. I have done a little reading, and apple does support their music play and ripper. Can you recommend a max cub that would be best for home use. I need it to rip music do banking and write letters and shop online.

I don't know if I'm allowed to suggest apps from other developers in Microsoft Q&A, but I use Exact Audio Copy to get media information. There are plenty of other apps you can use.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have downloaded a few apps already, and they work a few times then want money. Not doing it. I have already paid for a working computer that already should do this task. I feel Microsoft should support their basic functions on the computer. I have heard that not only does Max cubes music app work it is also supported, and that the max cube is a better built computer.

A few details would help narrow it down

Are you using Windows 10 or 11?

When you insert a CD, does Windows Media Player show the tracks as “Track 1, Track 2…”?

Does the album/artist information appear in Windows Media Player but disappear after ripping, or is it never identified at all?

Are you connected to the internet when inserting the CD?
