In your Windows computer, not in Edge, hold down Win+R keys, type in regedit to launch registry editor, then copy and paste the following to the registry editor's address bar to open it:

    Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Edge

Then on the left pane, delete any folder listed inside Edge folder. Not the Edge folder itself.

Restart the computer and that should resolve the issue.

The reason you saw this message is because you must have at one point accessed an organization's OneDrive/SharePoint documents/folders via the web browser. It is completely normal and benign.

On a personal PC, this usually means Edge has one or more browser policies applied locally, not that a real organization is managing the device.

    Try this in order:

    1. Check which policies are applied
      • In Edge, open edge://policy
      • Look for entries related to extensions or browser settings.
      • If policies are present, that is why Edge shows managed by your organization.
    2. Check whether an extension was installed by policy
      • Open edge://extensions
      • Look for extensions with the briefcase icon next to the enable/disable control.
      • Hovering over that icon shows that the extension is managed by organization policy.
    3. Scan for malware
      • Microsoft notes that extensions claiming to be managed by an organization can sometimes be malware.
      • Run a full scan with Microsoft Defender or another reputable antivirus product.
    4. Remove local Edge policy keys if this is a personal device
      • Warning: editing the registry is risky. Back up the registry and important data first.
      • Open Registry Editor: press Windows key + R, type regedit, press Enter.
      • Check these locations:
        • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Edge
        • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Edge
      • Delete keys related to the unwanted policy or extension.
    5. Command-line option to remove Edge policy branches
      • Warning: this deletes Edge policy branches from the current user and local machine locations.
      • Open PowerShell as administrator and run:
    reg delete HKCU\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Edge /f
    reg delete HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Edge /f

    1. Restart Edge and verify
      • Reopen Edge.
      • Go back to edge://policy and confirm the policies are gone.
      • The managed by your organization message should also be removed if those policies were the cause.

If the issue is tied to a specific extension and it cannot be removed, report it from Edge:

    • Settings and more (...)Help and FeedbackSend feedback

If Edge also crashes and the Modify option for repair is unavailable in Windows, that can indicate Edge was installed and is being managed by an organization.
