I sign onto MSN. I go to comment on an article and I have to sign in again. I want to comment on another article in the same session and I have to sign in AGAIN. And again, and again, and agian. This didn't happen previously - I used to sign in one and that was it. Why the insistence on multiple sign-ins?

    Hi Carolyn Olesen,

I understand how inconvenient it is to sign in again every time you want to comment during the same browsing session.

Could you confirm whether MSN still shows your account as signed in at the top of the page when the comment section asks you to sign in again? Also, does the same behavior occur in another browser?

In Edge, please go to Settings > Cookies and site permissions > Manage and delete cookies and site data and check whether Block third-party cookies is enabled. Temporarily turn it off, restart Edge and test the MSN comments again. You can also search the stored site data for “MSN” and remove only the MSN-related data before signing in again.

If the repeated prompt also occurs in another browser, the behavior is more likely related to the MSN commenting service rather than Edge. In that case, please report it through the Feedback option on the MSN page so the appropriate team can investigate. Thank you so much for your understanding.

Repeated sign-ins while commenting on MSN articles are commonly caused by the browser not keeping cookies or sign-in sessions, or by an MSN-side commenting/session issue.

    Try these checks in order:

    1. In Windows, verify the system clock:
      • Open Settings > Time & language > Date & time.
      • Turn on Set time automatically and Set time zone automatically.
      • Select Sync now. A clock skew of more than a few minutes can invalidate authentication cookies.
    2. In Microsoft Edge, test whether an extension is clearing cookies:
      • Go to edge://extensions/.
      • Turn off all extensions.
      • Test MSN commenting again.
      • Re-enable extensions one at a time to find the one causing repeated sign-ins.
    3. Test with a new Edge profile:
      • Go to edge://settings/profiles.
      • Select Add profile.
      • Sign in and test MSN comments there. If the problem does not happen in the new profile, the original profile is likely corrupted.
    4. If the issue is specific to MSN comments, use the Feedback option at the bottom right of an MSN page. MSN article comments and restrictions are handled by MSN’s own moderation/support process.
    5. If sign-in prompts appear that were not requested, select Deny for any prompt not initiated by the account owner.
