    Hi Kelly,

If you've already reset your coworker's password, but Microsoft says "the account doesn't exist," the issue is usually not the password itself. There are several common reasons why a user may be unable to access their Microsoft 365 account:

    1/ Possible sign-in page mismatch

One common issue that may prevent successful sign-in is accessing the account through a personal Microsoft sign-in page instead of the business sign-in page. To verify whether this is the cause, please ask your co worker try signing in via Office.com.

If she's able to sign in successfully using these pages, this may indicate that the issue is related to the sign-in location.

2/ The account may have been deleted from Microsoft 365

Since you've already reset the password and the error indicates that the account doesn't exist, please verify that the user account is still present in:

If the account is not listed under Active Users, check:

If the account appears in Deleted Users, you may need to restore her account before she can sign in again.

3/ If she's trying to sign in to Windows

The available sign‑in options and behavior can differ depending on the Windows edition installed on the device.

    • If the device is running Windows Home, it does not support a full organizational sign‑in at the lock screen or during initial setup. In this case, Windows requires a personal Microsoft account to complete the first sign‑in and finalize the device setup. Once she's signed in, she can connect the device to her business account by going to Settings > Accounts > Access work or school.
    • After this, she would continue using her personal account to sign in to Windows, while signing in to Microsoft 365 apps (such as Outlook, Teams, and OneDrive) with her business account. This approach allows Windows to complete setup successfully while still giving her access to her work resources.

I hope everything gets sorted out soon. If you have any further questions or updates, please don’t hesitate to share.
