How do I restore my identity without having to use Authenticator?

I am attempting to use my email address (not the one in use here) (The email address was established as a Microsoft account in 1992) to login to various Microsoft sites, but they require the use of Authenticator for 2FA. Until a few days ago, Authenticator on my iPhone was being sent notifications. I have reinstalled Authenticator several times, but the results are an Entra ID being installed and no notifications being received, although the email address is being provided to the requesting app/site. The only option I am being presented is to do use other options which solely lead to changing the password of the account and not enable notifications to be sent to my iPhone's Authenticator.
