My Microsoft account was compromise a few months back, I owned minecraft on it and have been wanting to play but when I log in with the email it puts me on a new account. I guess I now have a whole new account with the same email that was linked to my past one, so now I have the same email but no longer own minecraft what can I do about this?

Hello, thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A.

Have you tried changing your recovery information?

That is, during the password reset process, when you are being asked to Verify Your Identity,

Select 'I don't have any of these' and follow the prompts to replace the Security Information.

    User's image

Note - If you remove all of your previous security information and replace it with something new, your account will be put into a restricted state for 30 days.

Once the Security information is updated, you can try resetting your Microsoft account password.

Well I spent money on the account, I cant get access back because the person who hacked it changed the email, so when I send a password reset for my email it goes to a whole new account because its no longer linked to the one I last used. Am I just supposed to not get it back and re buy Minecraft because they changed the email and its a lost cause?
