On Aug.21,2026 I installed windows 10 home on my computer. The computer run smoothly at standard mode. Later I did windows update KB5120249. Right after that the computer crash within 5 minutes. On Aug.22,2026 I removed update KB5120249, the computer back normal. It already run smoothly at standard mode. How to fix update KB5120249

    Since your computer runs normally before installing KB5120249 and crashes within 5 minutes after the update, the issue is likely related to this update.

    You can remove KB5120249 first:

    Open SettingsUpdate & SecurityWindows Update

    Click View update historyUninstall updates

    Find KB5120249 → right-click it → select Uninstall

    Restart the computer

    After removal, you can temporarily pause Windows Update to prevent it from being installed again:

    Settings → Update & Security → Windows Update → Pause updates
