View.MeasureSpec Class

Definition

A MeasureSpec encapsulates the layout requirements passed from parent to child.

Remarks

A MeasureSpec encapsulates the layout requirements passed from parent to child. Each MeasureSpec represents a requirement for either the width or the height. A MeasureSpec is comprised of a size and a mode. There are three possible modes: <dl> <dt>UNSPECIFIED</dt> <dd> The parent has not imposed any constraint on the child. It can be whatever size it wants. </dd>

<dt>EXACTLY</dt> <dd> The parent has determined an exact size for the child. The child is going to be given those bounds regardless of how big it wants to be. </dd>

<dt>AT_MOST</dt> <dd> The child can be as large as it wants up to the specified size. </dd> </dl>

MeasureSpecs are implemented as ints to reduce object allocation. This class is provided to pack and unpack the &lt;size, mode&gt; tuple into the int.

Constructors

Name Description
View.MeasureSpec()

Initializes a new instance of View.MeasureSpec.

View.MeasureSpec(IntPtr, JniHandleOwnership)

A constructor used when creating managed representations of JNI objects; called by the runtime.

(Inherited from Object)
GetHashCode()

Returns a hash code value for the object.

(Inherited from Object)
GetMode(Int32)

Extracts the mode from the supplied measure specification.

GetSize(Int32)

Extracts the size from the supplied measure specification.

JavaFinalize()

Called by the garbage collector on an object when garbage collection determines that there are no more references to the object.

(Inherited from Object)
MakeMeasureSpec(Int32, MeasureSpecMode)

Creates a measure specification based on the supplied size and mode.

Notify()

Wakes up a single thread that is waiting on this object's monitor.

(Inherited from Object)
NotifyAll()

Wakes up all threads that are waiting on this object's monitor.

(Inherited from Object)
SetHandle(IntPtr, JniHandleOwnership)

Sets the Handle property.

(Inherited from Object)
ToString(Int32)

Returns a String representation of the specified measure specification.

UnregisterFromRuntime()

Unregisters this Java peer from the interop runtime.

(Inherited from Object)
Wait()

Causes the current thread to wait until it is awakened, typically by being <em>notified</em> or <em>interrupted</em>.

(Inherited from Object)
Wait(Int64, Int32)

Causes the current thread to wait until it is awakened, typically by being <em>notified</em> or <em>interrupted</em>, or until a certain amount of real time has elapsed.

(Inherited from Object)
Wait(Int64)

Causes the current thread to wait until it is awakened, typically by being <em>notified</em> or <em>interrupted</em>, or until a certain amount of real time has elapsed.

Extension Methods

Name Description
GetJniTypeName(IJavaPeerable)

Gets the JNI name of the type of the instance self.

JavaAs<TResult>(IJavaPeerable)

Try to coerce self to type TResult, checking that the coercion is valid on the Java side.

JavaCast<TResult>(IJavaObject)

Performs an Android runtime-checked type conversion.

JavaCast<TResult>(IJavaObject)
TryJavaCast<TResult>(IJavaPeerable, TResult)

Try to coerce self to type TResult, checking that the coercion is valid on the Java side.
