Remarks
A calendar system, used to organize and identify dates.
The main date and time API uses the ISO calendar system. A chronology represents the general concept of a calendar system, such as the Japanese, Taiwan, or Thai Buddhist calendar, and defines how its date fields operate.
A chronology acts as a factory for ChronoLocalDate instances. It can be looked up by identifier or locale, and applications can provide additional chronologies through ServiceLoader.
