切換失敗原因會在啟動切換時回傳 #onHandoverFailed(Call, int) ，但來源或目的地應用程式不支援切換。
當請求切換時#handoverTo(PhoneAccountHandle, int, Bundle)，會回傳至目的地PhoneAccountHandle未宣告PhoneAccount#EXTRA_SUPPORTS_HANDOVER_TO。 當請求 PhoneAccountHandle 切換時，也可回傳，針對當前通話（即來源呼叫的 Details#getAccountHandle()）未宣告 PhoneAccount#EXTRA_SUPPORTS_HANDOVER_FROM。
