.NET Framework 和 .NET 的所有版本中，代碼存取安全性（CAS）已被棄用。 最新版本的 .NET 不會接受 CAS 註釋，如果使用 CAS 相關 API，則會產生錯誤。 開發人員應尋求其他方法來完成安全任務。
網站身份僅針對使用 HTTP、HTTPS 和 FTP 協定的 URL 程式碼定義。 網站是 URL 協定後的「//」與後續「/」之間的字串，若 URL www.fourthcoffee.com中存在http://www.fourthcoffee.com/process/grind.htm，例如 。 這不包含埠號。 若某 URL 為 http://www.fourthcoffee.com:8000/，則該網站為 www.fourthcoffee.com，而非 www.fourthcoffee.com:8000。
網站可以完全匹配，或用點分隔符上的萬用字元（「*」）前綴來匹配。 例如，網站名稱字串*.fourthcoffee.com與 以及 都相符fourthcoffee.comwww.fourthcoffee.com。 沒有萬用牌的話，網站名稱必須完全吻合。 網站名稱字串 * 可以匹配任何網站，但不會匹配沒有網站證據的程式碼。

從 .NET Framework 4 開始，不再使用身份權限。
在 .NET Framework 1.0 與 1.1 版本中，即使呼叫組合完全信任，對身份權限的要求仍然有效。 也就是說，雖然呼叫組件擁有完全信任，但若集合體未符合要求條件，申請身份許可即告失敗。 在 .NET Framework 2.0 版本中，若呼叫組件擁有完全信任，要求身份權限是無效的。 這確保所有權限的一致性，消除了身份權限作為特殊情況的處理。
允許的宣告範圍取決於所使用的宣告。SecurityAction
安全屬性所宣告的安全資訊會儲存在屬性目標的元資料中，系統在執行時會被存取。 安全屬性僅用於宣告式安全。 為了命令式安全，請使用相應的權限類別。
