在先前的 WCF 版本中，元資料檢索是透過 HTTP GET 透過網頁瀏覽器存取服務說明頁面完成的。 只有 the HttpTransportBindingElement 得到了支持。 在使用 HTTPS GET 進行元資料檢索時，僅支援 。HttpsTransportBindingElement HttpGetBinding 與 HttpsGetBinding 屬性允許使用 HTTP GET（或 HTTPS GET）進行元資料檢索的綁定，並允許用於存取服務網頁的綁定可設定，無論是程式化或設定檔。
