As the title says toggling hdr on on surface pro 13 12th edition randomly made hdr mode just white. Before that hdr worked (screen wasnt white)but when turned on didnt work in any of the apps example edge or lightroom. Exept auto hdr. Problem started randomly and there isnt any new windows updates.

I edited the message, adding additional information.
What fixed this for me was a reinstall and whiping personal data on the device. Now HDR works. Screen isnt pure white and HDR is avaiable on example youtube and in lightroom. Most likely a update caused some subsystem conflict that factory reset and reinstall fixed
Yes, this can also happen if the profile is damaged. You did the right thing by resetting to factory settings (this couldn’t be fixed with simple OS settings). I recommend notifying the Microsoft developers via the Feedback Hub (launched using the Win+F key combination) that one of the OS updates is causing this problem. This will allow them to investigate the cause and make fixes.
I’ve added information about adjusting the SDR brightness. This should solve the problem (I also had a white screen; I adjusted it using the slider as needed).

For HDR mode to work correctly, you should calibrate the HDR color profile. Install the Windows HDR Calibration program, launch it, and follow the on‑screen instructions.
P.S. Also, in the System-Display-HDR settings, enable the HDR mode and go to its settings. Select “SDR content brightness” and adjust the slider so that the image is not too bright or washed out.
Hi. Thats not possible nor part of the original question. Why it's not possible ? Because when HDR mode is enabled on the surface pro 13 12th edition the screen is white and has full brightness. No see what's happening in calibration I need to disable HDR. Also when I did it it didn't fix the problem
