Hi, Ray Olsen
This likely means there are two separate purchases or subscriptions, possibly under different Microsoft accounts. Your wife’s subscription only covers you if it is Microsoft 365 Family and she has shared it with your Microsoft account.
Here are some suggestions you can try:
Sign in to Services & subscriptions using every Microsoft account you or your wife may have used. Check whether Excel and Microsoft 365 appear as separate purchases, and note their renewal dates.
Review your Microsoft order history and compare the amounts with your bank statement. If a charge is missing, use the Investigate option under your account’s payment methods, as the same card may be linked to another account.
If your wife has Microsoft 365 Family, have her verify that your Microsoft account is included in her sharing group. A Personal subscription cannot be shared.
Cancel the unwanted subscription from Services & subscriptions. The cancellation process will show whether the latest charge qualifies for a refund. Not every cancellation is refundable.
If either purchase was made through Apple, Google Play, Amazon, or another retailer, the cancellation and refund must be requested from that seller.
Thank you for your patience in reading, I hope this information has been helpful to you.
