The "new" and emasculated outlook 365 can't be set up with IMAP accounts, even though 2 other email clients can. THESE ARE BUSINESS ACCOUNTS I NEED TO ACCESS. This occurs on outlook 365 for windows and mac. What gives?????

    Hi David Johnson,

adding accounts in new Outlook what happens when you use this once you enter the email?

Can you login to your IMAP accounts online? using the company software that setup those accounts

    • On Mac, if adding in new Outlook, use Outlook > Settings > Accounts > + Add Account and complete the provider prompts if offered. WRONG. THIS DOES NOT WORK.
    • If the account uses a username different from the email address, new Outlook is not a fit for that configuration. The IMAP accounts I'm referring to have the SAME username.
    • Your "simplified work flow" is simplified for sure. It simplifies out of existence the IMAP emails I find necessary to conduct my own business.

Your answers are designed to be misleading. The "new" outlook does NOT SUPPORT many accounts. Your answers do not really explain any work-around except to abandon the new NOT IMPROVED outlook and stick with the old one. I've NEVER seen a product update that offers LESS capabilities. WTF? Thunderbird handles IMAP, eM Client handles IMAP. What is wrong with you people?
