Hi. I'm Brian and I'll try to help.

One thing the AI didn't mention is that if you see the "account doesn't exist" error, it means the person who compromised your account added their own address as the primary alias and then deleted yours. If your address used a Microsoft domain as yours did, that address is permanently disabled and can never be used again for any purpose including creating a new account or regaining the original account. I believe you will never recover that account. If you had any payment methods associated with the account, immediately contact the issuer of the payment method and have It reissued. If you have any other accounts on any service whatsoever that used that same username and password, those accounts are also in danger. Passwords should never be used for more than one account and you should always enable two-factor authentication or passkeys for any accounts that support them.

Use the official hacked-account recovery flow immediately:

    1. Start the Microsoft hacked-account recovery process and enter the original Outlook.com/Microsoft account address. The sign-in helper will either show the available self-help steps or offer the chance to talk to an agent.
    2. Before changing anything, run a full malware scan on the PC normally used with the account:
      • Open Windows Security
      • Go to Virus and threat protection
      • Select Scan options > Full scan > Scan now
    3. After the scan finishes, try to change or reset the password for the Microsoft account.
    4. If access is restored, immediately review account settings that attackers commonly change:
      • Connected accounts
      • Forwarding
      • Automatic replies
    5. On the Microsoft account Security basics page, select Review activity and check the Recent activity page. If suspicious sign-ins appear, mark them as This wasn't me or Secure your account where available.
    6. If the account is blocked because of unusual sign-in activity, use the Outlook.com unblock flow.

    Important limits:

    • Microsoft support agents are not allowed to send password reset links or directly change account details.
    • If the attacker changed the security information or sign-in alias, recovery must still go through the official recovery and sign-in helper process.
    • If the mailbox or OneDrive storage is full, Outlook.com may not send or receive email until space is cleared.

If the sign-in helper does not restore access, use the support contact option offered through that flow or the Microsoft support contact path for account security issues.
